Our Patron

We are delighted to have local entrepreneur Prem Goyal OBE as our Patron.

Prem Goyal is a successful City entrepreneur and Bermondsey resident. After working for the top financial institutions in New York, Tokyo and Zurich, he settled in London and founded his own company, Global Markets Consultants, in 2002.

He is very active in the community, serving as a magistrate in East London and a Governor at Tower Hamlets College. In addition to Carragher Academy, he is also Patron of a number of local organisations, including Southwark Headteachers’ Executive, Time and Talents Association and the Rotherhithe and Bermondsey Choral Society.

He’s raised over £150,000 for charity by undertaking diverse challenges, including running the London marathon, walking 100km through the Sahara Desert, cycling 500km in Vietnam, climbing to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and trekking to Mt. Everest base camp.

Prem is a passionate advocate of equality, diversity and inclusion and to date, has pledged £3 million in personal to strengthen social inclusion in London.

In 2012, Prem was invited to have lunch with Her Majesty the Queen at the top table to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee. He was also presented the Individual Community Spirit Award by London Mayor Boris Johnson at the London Leadership & Peace Awards in 2014.
